Enjoying the Sights at the Saturday Farmer's Market

The farmer's market was hopping last Saturday morning in Strasbourg.  It is still too early for any spring vegetables or fruits yet.  But there were a lot of potatoes, carrots, leeks, and cheese being sold.

Some musicians were playing jigs at the market.  Quite a few people were gathered around, tapping their feet to the music.

These curly, decorative twigs seem to be all the rage right now.

I love seeing how people transport their baguettes.

This cheese really brought the funk.  Yes, it is edible.
And yes, my husband and I bought some and ate it.
It was delicious!

Some fresh, young cheese and yogurt in a cooler

A vendor taking down the umbrella at his stand.

I tried to take a profile picture of this man, but a lady walked into the frame.
Sooooo......

..... I took another picture of him.
I think grandfatherly, European men have so much style.

  1. I love to reading your blog. It's so interesting to me.

That cheese really brought the funk. And you said" Yes, it is edible." I almost can not sure that is true. May be that is blue cheese? :) :)

  2. Thank you for the compliment on my blog.

It wasn't blue cheese, although it certainly had some mold on the outside. It had a smooth, semi-hard texture on the inside after we cut the rind off. The inside was a creamy yellow color. It was a little bit sharp tasting like cheddar. It was really good.
